The Advantages of Watching TV on Your Computer

TV is dead, long live TV - this is exactly how things go. Quite a while ago, the TV posed a very important role in almost any family - it almost became part of a routine of some sort where the family would gather every night in front of the TV and aside from watching a specific show, they would discuss general things. With the progresses made in the electronics area, there is no need for owning a TV - actually, the idea itself is fast becoming obsolete. This is where TV on your computer becomes important - some still rather watch a certain show or documentary (or even movie!) on TV, but they rather opt for the internet version. However, what are the advantages in regards to this?

First, you do not have to always check the schedule and plan all your life around that specific TV schedule. Let us assume that a movie you always liked is on at 7 p.m. and at that hour, you would rather go meet your loved one or something similar. Do not cancel the date; see the movie online, whenever you want. You can watch anything at any time you want and this gives you the opportunity of seeing more than you were able before. I bet you remember all those times when an interesting documentary was on and you were at work, or your favorite show started and you were still clogged with paperwork or something else that kept you away from the TV.

Second, avoid all commercials - agreed, there are websites that still give you a great bunch of commercials, however most of them avoid doing that. On TV probably the most annoying thing was the number of commercials, and the number of times they kept showing them. Depending on the station, it could have been 10 minutes of commercials at every 30 minutes (or 25) of a certain show (or movie). Frankly, for me that was very annoying. With online TV, you will still see commercials; however, throughout a show or a movie you will have at most five commercials that only last about 30 seconds each. Now that is quite a change, isn't it?
