Computers - Motherboard, RAM And CPU

For those people looking to make their own computers, they might be overwhelmed by the sheer number of options and combinations available to them. However, you can save a lot of money making your own computer rather than purchasing a ready-made personal computers. Computers are made up over certain key components which should be considered first above all else, as they are like jigsaw pieces; only certain pieces fit with other pieces. Here are some tips to purchasing components for your computers.

Motherboard, RAM, Processor

A computer is made up of three core parts, excluding the case, power supply and a hard drive. These core parts allow everything else to function and once provided with power, the computer will turn on (though it won't get far without further information from the hard drive). They all play their own part in the functioning of the PC. The motherboard serves as a hub for the other components, but provides no performance boost of its own. Therefore, when choosing a motherboard, look for compatibility with newer components.

The central processing unit (CPU) is much easier to decide on. With your motherboard in mind, you'll be restricted to a single series of CPUs, such as the new i3, i5 and i7 processors from Intel. Choose one to fit your budget and performance needs, keeping in mind that it's not only processing speed which matters, but also how many cores are provided.

With multiple cores, the processor can easily deal with multiple streams of information, meaning it beats other, similarly-powered processors that have lesser cores. For those who wish to multitask, a multi-core processor is a must. For overall increased performance, also consider purchasing high-quality RAM.

RAM (Random Access Memory) performs as temporary memory for the rest of the computer. Unlike the hard drive, which is designed for large storage over a long period of time with slow access speeds, RAM is designed for small storage over a short period of time with very fast access speeds. This makes it ideal for storing important or regularly used information that the CPU needs to access quickly. Obviously, the higher the speed and storage space, the better the RAM.

Power Supply

The power supply provides power to the entire computer, including every components within. When utilizing smaller power supply units (PSUs), even an additional hard drive or optical drive can make all the difference and may even result in your personal computer not switching on. For a larger computer using multiple hard drives and multiple graphics cards, consider at least a 700w+ power supply with the necessary power cables to juice up such components.

AMD Athlon Computers: At the Top of the Game

Two of the best manufacturers of CPU processors are Intel and AMD Athlon. These two companies have been raging war against each other ever since AMD Athlon beat Intel to releasing a 64bit processor. But despite this, AMD Athlon computers have not completely won the battle yet. The two companies have been trying to beat the competitor in terms of price, clock speed or performance, power consumption and heat production. There have been processor releases one after the other from these companies, making CPU processor shopping even more difficult. The good thing though with this war between Intel and AMD Athlon is that we are given an array of the best processors.

AMD Athlon computers have been around for a while now. They started with the release of the Athlon classic x86 processor way back when Intel’s Pentium 3 was the market leader. AMD Athlon’s first processor barely touched Intel’s market then. But in 2000, AMD Athlon dropped a bomb on Intel by releasing its Thunderbird processor. This time, AMD Athlon computers gained the market leader title over Intel’s Pentium 3. And ever since then, AMD Athlon has been competitively coming up with processors that seem to match, if not over perform Intel processors.

Let’s talk about speed!

If you are on the look out for a processor, you will probably check how AMD Athlon processors match with Intel’s in terms of price and performance. Over the years, AMD Athlon has continually tried to improve its clock speed and other features. Current AMD Athlon processors are the 64 x2 series and 64 fx series. The 64 x2 series offers a clock speed range from 2.3 GHz and 3.0 GHz while the 64 fx series offers a clock speed range from 2.6 GHz to 3.0 GHz. AMD Athlon may not always match or over perform every Intel processor but the latest processor did. The fx -74 processor out performs Intel’s Core 2 Extreme QX6700, with a 3.00 GHz clock speed compared to the latter’s slower 2.66GHz speed.

The Price Factor

Since AMD Athlon is the newer brand, it is only natural that they offer affordable prices. In fact, all their prices are lesser compared to Intel’s. The AMD Athlon 64 x2 series for instance is lower priced, between $170 and $500, compared to Intel Core 2 Duo series which are priced between $180 and $600. AMD Athlon processors are definitely more affordable, although the latest 64 fx – 74 is equally priced to its Intel counterpart.

Diversifying to Smaller Processors

AMD Athlon has also touched the market of notebook processors, with the Turion Series and the Mobile Athlon XP. To fit a notebook’s size, these types of processors are basically smaller, has lower heat production and power consumption.

Choosing the Right Processor

Although speed and price are important factors to consider when you buy processors, your PC usage should be the first determining factor. Why would you go for a high-speed processor when your PC usage won’t reach that speed? If your PC use is limited to word processing and internet surfing only, choosing from the list of AMD Athlon processors will have no difference. However, if you use your PC for high-speed computer games that requires faster clock-speed, you may want to check the top part of the AMD Athlon computers list.

Moreover, you may also want to consider buying cooling fans if you go with high-speed processors. Although AMD Athlon processors are manufactured to have lower heat production, cooling fans will help cool the processors more effectively especially if you plan to over-clock your CPU.

Computers – The Best Tool For Video Editing

Computers were designed to make things easier for us and a lot faster. That is also true with using computers for video editing. Computers are being used for video editing nowadays because it saves a lot of time. If you are familiar with computers it will be a lot easy and you can finish the job in about an hour. Using computers for video editing is known as Digital Video Editing. All you have to do is just take a video or a shot then connect your camcorder to the computer. After that you can start editing it and add whatever filters or titles you want to put.

The computer will play an important part in making you video a good one. You have to download or install video editing software first. Also, check your computer. You must have a CPU processor that is fast. The CPU processor is the life of the computer for this is where information is stored. As like what they say the muscle and the brains of a computer. If the CPU is fast, it will produce better edited videos and you could check or preview the video at present time.

Large Hard Drives is also a must in using computers for video editing. You will not only use software for editing but usually the files of the video are large therefore consuming a large space on your hard drive. This is essential in creating a high quality video. It is also recommended that you get an external hard drive so that you will still have enough space for your computers hard drive. It is a good way to store your videos if you use an external hard drive. A factor to consider is the RAM that you have in your computer. It is one of the factors that will give your computer a good performance as well as create a good quality video. You may use 1GB of RAM but if you can upgrade it to 2GB it will be better.

Hardware equipment for video editing has two kinds: analog and digital. We use video capture card for analog format. This will transfer analog picture from your computer to other sources like television, analog camcorder and VCR and will format it to digital video. Firewire is also available and in demand. This video editing hardware equipment allows us to transfer the video in digital format thus making us capture the video digitally and would not have to go to the process of transferring video from analog to digital format.

With digital video editing we can make simple videos like your summer vacation or a special occasion a quality video. Chances of making a documentary film is also big just by using digital video editing. It is less expensive. Also, the image quality will not diminish since we are using digital format. We can further enhance the video instead of making it poorer in quality. Computers will make your video editing faster, easier and would produce quality videos that you may benefit in the future.

Choosing the Right PC

With so many desktop PC’s to choose from, how do you know which is the best choice for your business? In this guide, we’ll cover many of the basics so that you can make an informed decision. First and foremost, here’s what you should do when choosing a model that is right for you.

Decide on a CPU (Central Processing Unit)—The CPU is essentially the brain of the computer, and thus, a great place to start when choosing a computer. The faster the processor’s clock speed, which is measured in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz), the faster it can execute instructions. As a result, CPUs are divided into three groups: traditional single-core processors; dual-core processors, which boost performance for demanding applications; and quad-core processors, which provide unmatched performance for power-hungry multimedia and software applications.

Make sure you have enough memory (RAM)—Random Access Memory (RAM) is temporary storage that provides the working space for your computer to operate. Adding more RAM can result in an immediate and dramatic improvement in performance. Essentially, the greater the RAM, the more applications you can run at one time. RAM is relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and requires no configuration.

Select your hard drive capacity— Your desktop’s hard drive is where all data is stored, so when it comes to storage capacity, too much is never enough. And since enormous hard drives are very affordable (for most users, a 250GB drive is a good starting point), this means more for you and greater functionality for your computer.

CD/DVD Drives—CD and DVD drives read data on discs in a variety of formats. Some drives can also record data, images, music, or video to CD and/or DVDs. But beware: many of these drives create DVDs in formats that other drives and DVD players cannot read.

Consider security—Security might not be in the forefront of your mind when you’re shopping for a computer, but it should play a part in your decision. For example, virus and spyware are far more likely to target Windows PCs than MACs. Regardless of which one you choose, you should always use antivirus, firewall, and antispyware programs.

Choose by Brand—Surveys consistently show notable differences in technical support among computer brands. Since some brands are generally more expensive than others, those factors could help you decide which of two similarly equipped computers is the better buy.

These are just some of the many factors that can help your machine run more smoothly and efficiently. In the end, buying a good desktop primarily depends on what you will be using it for. Are you looking for a computer to perform basic tasks or to meet special requirements? Do you need to stay within a specific budget? Once you answer these questions, you’ll get the best value for your money and, more importantly, a computer you’re happy with.

Portable Zip Drives - Take Your Zip Files Anywhere

The Zip drive is a storage system for computers that serves as a good alternative to USB flash devices and CD and floppy drives. It can either be installed in your CPU or you can opt for the portable Zip drives so you can take your files anywhere with you for more convenience. The portable ones still function like the ones you can install in your CPU since they rewrite and read Zip disks, but this time, they can be removed and reconnected easily.

Replacements for the floppy disk

Portable zip drives were originally designed to serve as a more convenient and better way to store more files than the 3.5-inch floppy disk. They are connected to the computer using a peripheral port and their storage capacities range from 100MB to 750MB. However, due to their expensiveness and bulkiness, only a few people are able to find them useful and really convenient as a replacement to the floppy disk.

USB versus parallel ports

When portable zip drives were initially introduced in the market, they were able to connect to computers through the parallel port. However, they were not compatible with other computers that did not have those parallel ports. Furthermore, these ports have lower data rates compared to USB's. On the other hand is the USB portable zip drive that you can conveniently plug to the USB port of your computer and it allows for faster transfer of files.

Zip drives are useful, too

In today's world where USB flash drives and DVD ROM's are more preferred, you can still opt to buy a portable zip drive for your computer or laptop. After all, you can never have too many storage devices and they make good back-up devices, too. Just make sure that it consists of a plug-and-play USB system that won't require you to install any software and that it has a format time of 10 to 15 seconds.

Important information

Complete information on portable zip drives is available at PickyGuide, the authority in free consumer advice. Access top-ranked, best-reviewed, and most competitively priced zip drives in PickyGuide's recommended products section.

Fix Windows Computer Errors Fast

Overheating: For a CPU that is overheating, you may check the PC health section of your BIOS. A healthy CPU fan generally runs at about 3000 to 5000 RPMS. You may also want to check your power supply and video card fan. A fan may be repaired by cleaning it (removing and unclogging dirt on its blades).

Computer memory: Widows usually detects a problem with your computer's memory and may start the memory diagnostics tool automatically. However, if you suspect that there is a problem with your memory and wish to start diagnostics manually, go to the memory diagnostic tool, which is under, Control Panel>System and Maintenance> Administrative tools. You will be prompted to choose whether to run the program on restart or restart and run later.

Errors on your Hard Drive: To check for errors on your Hard Drive, go to My computer, right click on the drive, and click Properties>Tools and then click Check Now...You may choose automatically Fix file system errors for a more thorough scan.

Outdated or poorly programmed device drivers: When your computer seems to predictably crash when you perform certain tasks such as play games, watch movies or plug-in certain hardware such as a joystick, the drivers associated to that task may have a problem. The first thing is to check for compatibility. Check if the drivers you installed meant for your version of windows.

Corrupt files and programs: Corrupt files may also present problems in your system. A corrupt file is sometimes created when there is interruption when you try to

The quickest way to find a problem is to always start with the most obvious cause. Generally speaking, hardware malfunctions are usually the most obvious and easiest to Fix. Secondly, check if there is a pattern for the "crashes", especially if you have encountered several "crashes" before. For example, you may find that your computer tends to crash when you are watching movies; this may indicate a problem with your graphics card drivers.

What causes a computer crash?

A computer crash is a condition where a computer's application and or operating system ceases to function properly and exists, due to a malfunction in the execution of the machine instruction. The most commonly known computer crash is arguably the "Blue Screen of Death". These crashes sometimes happen at the least convenient time, like when you are about to finish an assignment or report, not to mention the time wasted when you try to restore the system.

Broadband Internet Technology

The internet continues to improve upon improvement of how fast webpages load, due to broadband internet technology. Everyday, the internet grows due to the large volume of information available online. Fast online connections such as t1, t3, DSL, broadband and even a fiber optic cable connection to access the net can easily help internet users access what they desire to see easily.

Many homes are still in the old world mentality of "56k dialup" mode. An upgrade to fiber optic fIOs, DSL or faster online connection through a modem or their local cable television provider can potentially speed up web services, when logging onto the world wide portal.

Many people still use DSL which is from your TV cable service for their internet service. While it is a reliable means for web services, today's technology encourages those to potentially consider otherwise. One company encourages using fIOs service, due to their lightspeed technology of cacheing web pages faster than any broadband DSL competitor in today's market. In addition, some people are saying that it can serve pages just as fast as a person can blink their eyes.

For those who have standard memory on their computer, it is highly recommended that you flirt with upgrading how you connect to the web. When a person keeps alot of webpages up on their screen, this slows down a computer's CPU processor, forcing it to work harder. By having a fast connection, you may potentially ease this slow page loading process until able to add additional memory to your desktop or laptop computer, so pages that do load on your screen are in a timely manner.

Data Loss - Backing Up For the Inevitable

It is a fear that every individual who has toiled in front of a computer knows very well. After spending days, even weeks on a single project and finally finishing it (or so you thought), it suddenly disappears. Gone are the days of my dog ate my homework excuse, it has now morphed into my computer crashed and my files are all gone excuse. Be it the truth or a mere excuse for laziness, not being able to submit any output is everything but pleasant.

Data Loss: Inevitable

It happens to everyone. This is not isolated to a single nationality, race, or political affiliation. Even with this information, fact still remains that only a few individuals attempt to protect themselves from such threat. Most people fail to realize that the product of their blood and sweat (and sometimes tears), is represented in their hard drives by a few million ones and zeroes, which can easily vanish at any given time.

The Unending List of Excuses

The excuses that one can come up for not backing important computer files only show the depth and scope of his imagination. Among the variety of excuses, the frequent reason for not backing-up files is that the people simply do not have the time and patience to save and save their data yet again using another medium. It would seem that backing-up important data (in case something happens to the original document) is not really a choice one often makes.

But to be fair, there are those that would be more than wiling to back-up their files. But unfortunately, their financial standing dictates that an additional hard drive is not an option. Then there are the few who perceives such task as tedious and time consuming. In their point of view, manually copying hundreds, if not thousands, of files and data is but a waste of time. How can securing important data in an alternative location be a waste of time?

Simply put, there is not a single legitimate excuse for not backing-up computer files. Actually, one need not purchase expensive hard drive or flash drive for back-up purposes. The market sells flash drives amounting to less than twenty dollars and hard drives tagged below a hundred bucks.

Let us face it, we do not have much important files saved in our primary hard drive. And with this raised, opting for the basic flash drive will provide sufficient storage and security. Since there aren't a lot of files, weekly back-ups will not be time consuming. A few minutes to a couple of hours might be enough to manually copy valuable data.

External Hard drives

This is basically the same as that installed inside your CPU (central processing unit). This drive is usually linked to the computer through a USB (universal serial bus). And thanks to this arrangement, the user can effortlessly transfer files by dragging and dropping said data from one device into the computer and vice versa.

Pros & Cons

Pros: Most external hard drives are plug and play. You can just hook the drive in your desktop computer and the latter will detect the newly connected hardware on its own. As for the con, this device demands for a substantial amount of juice or electricity---a let down for all notebook owners. Some hard drives function solely with a plugged USB, while others depend on external power, usually a wall outlet.

Flash drives

This is a miniature hard drive, small enough to fit on a key holder. This works like a hard drive as well. You connect it thru the USB port and the computer will automatically detect the same. As for the memory capacity, it ranges from megabytes to gigabytes. This is portable hard drive at its finest.

Optical Drive

These are your CDs and DVDs. But with the current technology, the former appears to be vanishing in the market to make way for the more advanced DVD. An optical drive utilizes laser to interpret and inscribe data onto the disk. DVDs are convenient for its affordability and accessibility. Problem is, when the DVDs get scratched, it will render them useless.

Common Myths of CPU's and GPU's

So, talking about "processors and graphics cards" is a little vague. Here's a start for all of you:

1. A Few Common myths of processors and graphics cards

2. The power of processors and graphics cards

3. If one were to reign supreme and have most of the computer under its control, which one will have that control?

In this article, I will be talking about some common myths.

Common Myths of Processors and Graphics Cards

Now, many of you are new to computers, some who are pretty good with computer hardware, and there're us, the experts. But there're always common myths lurking around rising from misconceptions of a few people and spreading around through forums and websites. But I'm going to crack some of them.

One common myth I come across is this one: "A computer cannot exist without a graphics card installed." Well, most of you would probably want a graphics card installed on your computer for kicks and giggles, and maybe for shows. But that's not true; computers can run WITHOUT graphics cards. A common and one of the only options for running computers without graphics cards is to have a motherboard with integrated graphics. This is a really cool feature for those of you who don't really need the graphics power because you save money from not buying a graphics card. These motherboards with integrated graphics is definitely not as powerful as some of the mid-range and high-range graphics cards, but it will churn out more than enough power to give you a display on your monitor.

Another common myth I hear a lot is "Oh no, my Core2 processor is only 1.45 GHz, it's so slow!!!!!" Again, that's definitely NOT true. The processing speed of CPUs and its efficiency depends on many factors. One main factor is the number of cores.

As technology keeps developing and revolutionizing itself, programs and hardware must both keep up. Today, we have single-core processors, dual-core processors, tri-core processors(AMD's Phenom) and the quad-core processors. Now, if you have been "trapped" by this common myth, you will think that a 3.00 GHz Pentium processor will be faster and more efficient than a Core2 1.45Ghz processor.

Well, that's wrong; take into consideration the number of cores: the Pentium has 1, and the Core2 has two cores(in this example). Now, when you have two cores PLUS hyper-threading, this means that you essentially have 4 cores, just not written on the box or the computer. This means that you have cores just as powerful or more powerful than the one in the Pentium, and you have four of them.

As you start using more and more programs simultaneously, the Core 2 processor will have an easy time utilizing its cores, but the Pentium will have a hard time because it will only have 1 core, and it can only take on so many threads and tasks. That's why processor speeds, at first glance, do not really matter.

Windows Vista Support and Help Services

Windows vista is an Operating system which was developed by Microsoft in year of 2006. The previous name of Windows vista was "longhorn". Windows vista has lots of inbuilt feature, it is more secure, more usable, more user friendly and more attractive for user point of view. These above feature was not present in windows earlier version in windows XP. If you want to get windows vista support, then you should remember some basis things about the Windows Vista like it's hardware requirement as:

  • Vista support CPU P VI and higher
  • Memory minimum 512 Mega Byte recommended 1 Giga Byte.

Some times people said that their Windows Vista run very slow, however they have minimum hardware requirement like 512 Mega Byte RAM. And they do not look after about recommended memory feature. Technically you should have 1 Giga Byte of RAM in your computer for smooth running Windows Vista. Because the graphics of Windows Vista is very high, which is consume more memory. It is good enough if you have an external graphics card.

Is normal user can troubleshoot and repair to Windows vista? Although generally normal user specially home users do not too enough technically sound, however they can troubleshoot Windows vista. Windows vista gives easy troubleshooting platform to user. It can diagnostics automatically and detect errors like hard disks error, faulty memory, any performance issue, loos network connection and shutting down problems. For more entertainment in Windows Vista there is inbuilt Windows Media Center, which is available in Vista Home Premium and Ultimate editions, earlier it had to purchased separately.

Some important feature of Windows Vista are:

New User Experience, including Windows Aero: It makes Windows vista similar to like Mac OSX. The appearance of windows, its desktop, start button, menus, taskbar everything got a new look. You can applied here Aero themes, which support 3D modes.

Windows Sidebar: It is a long, vertical bar that is displayed on the side of desktop. It can contain mini programs, which is easy access just one click when you want to open.

Windows Defender: It is the inbuilt spyware protection . For security reason it is very important.

User Account Control: If you want to that no one user can access some particulate application or program which is important to you, then with the help of it you can set security policy.

There are lots of more feature like:

  • Performance Center.
  • The Instant Desktop Search
  • Network Map
  • Windows ReadyBoost
  • Windows ReadyDrive

How to fix a slow computer and speed up computer performance

Computer is among one of those technological breakthroughs of all the time which has redefined the world, the way they were seen earlier. The Computer has taken the front seat whether it is at home, at work and at school. Given the significance of computers in our lives it will be appropriate to give high priority to computer performance. Without proper maintenance your computer might run slow; who would want to use a sluggish computer, right?

Like any of the other devices a standard computer will experience wear and tear. The prolonged existence of a computer's life will always depend on how the possessor takes care of his or her computer system. Computer clean-up is the simplest way of taking concern of the computer system. It is predictable that dust and dirt will build up inside that CPU tower so customary cleaning should be obligatory.

In today's world, everyone wants to get things done in a quicker and more efficient manner than before. Time is always of the essence and unreasonable deadlines are common occurrence for a lot of people. With that, everyone would always want their tools and equipment to be reliable and work at the highest level possible, especially when it comes to computers. It can be said that these complicated machines are the most important and most powerful tool at your disposal. A computer can do thousands of calculations for you, you can create wonderful presentations as well as document anything with a computer. Today almost any profession relies on this machine. So when it comes to a slow pc, people often get frustrated right off the bat.

A computer can slow down for a variety of reasons. One is that your computer can be overheating which means you need to purchase better ventilation for your hard drive. It could also mean that there is something wrong with your hardware such as crossed wires which can produce extreme amounts of heat. It is better of avail a computer support services before facing any major problem.

Another common reason for a computer to become slower is due to lack or Random Access Memory or RAM. To fix this problem, you can simply upgrade your RAM to higher specifications. Other common computer problems that can slow down your computer involve automatically running programs and too much programs in your computer tray, which is the bar at the lower right hand corner of the screen. To remove some of these programs you can use windows customize or if you're using another operating system, try to check the settings and stop automatic running programs that your computer doesn't need.

Lastly, a very common occurrence of computers slowing down is because of the computer's registry being full or unorganized. A registry is where your operating system saves information about certain details of your computer, hardware settings and other important files that keep your machine running. Overtime this can become a complete mess. At the same time, contracting spywares and malicious programs can also mess up your registry. In order to Speed up your computer, you can use software programs known as registry cleaners. These things are programmed to clean up your registry and remove any and all malicious software that is in your database or registry.

These issues are but some of the most common ones to affect your computer's speed. There are also other events that can reduce its performance which is why you should always be ready and take care of your computer.

Useful Tips To Customize Your Mouse

The usage of computers has made life simpler for most of us. The key components of the computer system include the CPU, the monitor, keyboard and the mouse. Mouse is essential for navigating through the screen with relative ease than using the arrow keys in the keyboard.

People who are new to computers or in the learning stages might encounter some difficulties handling the mouse and moving the cursor across the navigation pane in the monitor. In some cases, such people even try to change or adapt their style of working to the requirements and standard working of the mouse. Most computers are ideally suited for a person using his right hand for working and the mouse is ideally placed on his or her right hand side. What will the choice be for a person using left hand predominantly for working than the right hand?

If you happen to be one such person, you will be delighted to know that you can customize the functions of the mouse to suit your working. Computer Configuration - What is Needed?

The current computer configuration is embedded into the macro file and contains the computers name. The computer configuration is downloaded to the target computer and saved in a cabinet. Upon activating the control, the present computer configuration is altered to the previously specified configuration set up. Such subsequent change of the computer configuration is referred to as resetting the configuration.

Configuration

The current and stored configurations are displayed in the dialog. The stored configuration is displayed on the left and the current configuration is displayed on the right side of the dialog window. It can be integrated into your Web site in minutes and you can check the configuration of your PCs. The suggested minimum hardware configuration is a 1000MHz Intel Pentium 4(or comparable) CPU, 512MB RAM, 32MB graphics card, and color monitor with 1024x768 (or higher) resolution. In addition, the software program allows the operator to change individual configuration parameters. The computer configuration is as valuable as the data it processes. So a back up strategy should include both data and system configurations. Each computer's configuration is unique, so you need to be familiar with your PC and the software you use before you change these files.

Program

Programs and data contained in primary memory and secondary storage are collectively referred to as software. Software program are for allowing an user to predefine one or more sets of computer configurations and programmably assigns a configuration set to the control. The user is able to assign one set-up to be a current configuration which takes effect if commanded from within or upon exiting the configuration set-up program. The user makes configuration selections to the configuration set up computer program through a user interface. Then the user can run the configuration setup program and select a configuration for the computer system to enter into immediately, and become the current configuration.

Windows Vista Blue Screen - How To Fix The Windows Vista Blue Screen

Computer troubled with the Vista blue screen? It is also appropriately called the Vista blue screen of death (BSOD). If you have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of having to deal with it you know why it has that name. Your computer suddenly freezes up displaying a windows blue screen with a bunch of computer language on it. Then your CPU reboots while you lose whatever you were working on or doing at the time. The problem can be a huge pain in the neck. But how do we fix this dreaded Vista blue screen of death? Well first we have to figure out what is causing it. It is usually one of two things:

You were running too many programs at once. This is perhaps the most common and easiest symptom to deal with. The solution is simple. Run less programs or add additional RAM to your computers physical memory.

The other cause is a little more complicated to fix but there are easy solutions if you have the right software.

You have errors in your Windows Vista registry. The registry is the lifeblood of your system. It contains data to run all software and hardware on your computer. So obviously when things go wrong with the registry it can cause major problems.

Unfortunately Windows Vista does not have any internal mechanism to fix corrupt registry errors. The Vista blue screen errors will simply get worse and worse until something is done to clean up registry problems.

Fortunately I have found a program that can fix the Windows Vista blue screen error quite easily. I actually consider it the best registry cleaner for Vista. Not only can it fix the Vista blue screen of death, it also has an optimization feature to speed up your computer tremendously. Scan your computer for free and see if there are any errors you need fixed.

Top Three Computer Gpu Companies

The GPU, otherwise known as the graphics processing unit, acts as the processor of a PC video card. The GPU's relationship with the video card is comparable to that shared between the CPU and the computer.

The GPU is usually integrated into the computer motherboard, but more powerful ones are usually incorporated in dedicated video cards. The GPU contains a graphics chip that allows PC video cards to render and display graphics and images. The processing power of the graphics chip determines the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the GPU and the video card.

Nvidia, ATI and Intel are the three leading GPU manufacturers worldwide.

* Nvidia

Founded in 1993, Nvidia has firmly established itself as a world leader in GPU production. Its brand name products include the GeForce graphics cards for both desktop PCs and notebook computers. Nvidia also developed the SLI (Scalable Link Interface) technology which permits a computer to run two to four PC video cards simultaneously. Nvidia is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

* ATI

ATI began as ATI Technologies Inc. in 1985. The company was absorbed by Advanced Micro Devices in 2006 and renamed ATI Technologies ULC. ATI and Nvidia are tough competitors with product line-ups that are at par with each other. When Nvidia released its SLI technology in 2004, ATI was quick to counter Nvidia's SLI video cards with its own CrossFire video cards.

* Intel

Intel is a large PC company whose products span CPUs, motherboards, PC video cards and other electrical hardware. Intel's Graphics Media Accelerators are commonly integrated on many motherboards, permitting computers to display graphics without the aid of a separate dedicated video card. Based in Santa Clara, California, Intel is neighbors with Nvidia.

When it comes to integrated graphics, Intel rules. For powerful dedicated PC video cards, computer users will most probably make a choice between Nvidia and ATI.
